Welcome

You've reached the new member training resources for St. James Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois.  Here you'll find much of the reading and background materials that we will be referring to during our classes.  This site does not, however, replace the face to face conversations we will be having in our classes.  The short comments on these pages are designed to whet the appetite and push a little beyond what active members would be expected to master.  This is also where we provide some links and suggestions for further reading for those persons who might be interested in following up on a specific topic.

Organization

Each unit includes:

• an introductory article,
• a section of the Presbyterian (PCUSA) Study Catechism,
• a section on church history,
• a section on theology,
• a section on church government, and
• a set of review questions.
